FALL HOME TOUR: It's a Colorful Life

Updated: Oct 15, 2020

Welcome to It’s a Colorful Life Fall Home Tour. Hello, and Happy Fall from Kentucky! I am Courtney, if you are new around here. Hopefully, you hopped over here from HomemadebyCarmona. Thanks to Jennifer and Jewel who organize these seasonal tours of color lovers homes. Thanks ladies! It’s so inspiring to see what others do in their creative beautiful spaces and I am thrilled to be part of it. Another incredibly fun thing is YOU can participate! Simply use the hashtag #ItsaColorfulLifeTour on your Instagram regular feed post during the week of Oct 12-17th. On Friday, each member of the It’s a Colorful Life Home Tour | Fall Edition will feature a few of their favorites in their Instagram stories.

So... without further hesitation welcome to my home.

Let’s start with the outside. I love mums. Is there a more perfect fall flower? They pair so well with pumpkins and fallen leaves (we have lots).

I try and keep my summer ferns in my planters as long as possible as a back drop for pumpkins and faux leaves to be nestled in. This year I did something a little bit different and brought out my blue and white pots and stuffed them with pumpkins. I love how it gives the porch just a little bit more visual interest. Not everything is green, brown and orange. That blue gives you an unexpected color pop. Plus, I can never the miss the opportunity to add a little chinoiserie love.

Inside the pumpkins continue. I think pumpkins are the perfect fall decor item. You can use them September, October and all the way up to Thanksgiving. Pops of black and white from buffalo check pillows and Staffordshire dogs also are all items I use in Autumn. I thrifted these guys last week at an outdoor market. Aren't they the cutest?

On to the kitchen. I keep it pretty simple and just bring out my big orange bowl. I usually have a wicker basket on the kitchen island holding fruit and granola bars. When the pumpkins come out, the orange bowl comes out. It also doubles as my candy bowl on Halloween night. (Mac says, "Hi").

This year on my kitchen table I decided to get crafty. I created these pumpkins from

the paper mache ones you buy at your local craft store. I did a full blog tutorial on the process. So if you are interested, you can read about it here.

The last room I want to share is our family room. It is a rarely shared room, because it is the most lived in. Since Covid-19 has arrived, being home with a family of 6 all the time one room is bound to take a hit. This is the room the kiddos hang out in, watch tv and play toys in. So its rarely put together. I did manage to get all the pillows back on the couch and my dough bowl rearranged (all Power Rangers removed) to snap a photo for you.

That is it. Thanks for stopping by, hope you have enjoyed the tour.

Be sure to check out Ariel's home @J'adoreleDecor she is next on the blog tour!

Have a Happy Colorful Fall!!
