Life is wonderful, busy, beautiful and last but not least, COLORFUL. When Jennifer from Dimples and Tangles blog asked if I would be part of the Summer Blog Tour, she was hosting with Jewel from Jeweled Interiors, I was thrilled to be included and participate with such a wonderful group of ladies. Have you toured the other homes so far? Serious talent and creativity I'm telling you. So without further ado, let me give you a visual snapshot of my home this summer.
Welcome to my home. One of my favorite things about my house in the summer, is the front porch. My husband custom made me wood planters that I fill every year with the biggest kimberly ferns I can find. Ferns and caladiums are my go to porch plant. Years ago, I saw ferns and caladiums planted together and they have been my favorite ever since.
The ferns don't stop on the front porch. The entryway chest holds my big blue and white footbath and is filled with a boston fern. If you follow me on Instagram you know the chinoiserie wallpaper was a "stuck inside the house all spring, because of coronvirus" project. What better time to get things done in your home, am I right?
The living room is my truly colorful room. I have way to many pillows on my couch. I collect them like art pieces. (I maybe slightly obsessed). Each one is covered in flowers and leaves and made from a turkish kilim rug. The rug in this room is wonderful blend of pinks, blues and golds. It magically hides all trails of dirt that 4 kids and 3 dogs may leave behind.
My 20 year collection of blue and white is displayed along with my favorite pieces of art. Just this week, I "shopped" my parents attic and came home with a vintage table. Its round, the perfect height and was in desperate need of a coat of pink paint. Mission completed, with a quick update with equal parts of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint (Burgundy and Emperors Silk), and finished with a dark wax.
It pairs perfectly with my chairs. My chairs!! My current favorite summertime project; these chairs. They were purchased from Facebook Marketplace (see previous blog post), and received a makeover. Every room needs a bit of whimsy and these chairs are my floral fantasy come true.
The last stop on our colorful home tour is my kitchen. I recently completed the One Room Challenge.
This gorgeous green color I used throughout the kitchen is from Amy Howard One Step Paint. It's my all time favorite color!
My most recent summer purchase is this vintage rug for our dining area.
Its a beautiful shade of green wtih touches of blue. I love how much color and texture a rug can give a space, so simple, but a big impact!
I try and rotate out different cut flowers, stems and branches from the yard to bring the outside in through the summer. I also never the miss the opportunity to use my blue and white dishes. I have been collecting since the 3rd year of my marriage. (This September we celebrate our 22 wedding anniversary). Time flies, doesn’t it?!
That's all I have time for now. Hop on over to the next house on the tour, its Carla from CarlaBethany.com its sure to be spectacular!

I thoroughly enjoyed this tour.. all the bold bright beautiful colors have me at a happy place! I'm sure everyday you open that door - you smile big time! I love the floral chairs and your pillows, and the curtains and how about everything else!!
Courtney... I don’t know where to start! I’m poring over every photo. I want to paint a room light blue. I need to wallpaper something else. I need more blue and white😉. KQ ferns are my fave for outside too, they’re so hearty!! And your planters are so fab. Does your Lowe’s get the GIANT ones for $30? Mine always grow a ton by the end of the Summer. Loved every bit, thanks so much for touring with us!!
Hi, can you please share your source for the light fixture over your kitchen island and your kitchen table?? Thank you!! Your home is darling!!
