Week 6: One Room Challenge (Thrifted and Collected Furnishings)

Updated: Jun 11, 2021

It’s hard to believe it’s WEEK 6 of the One Room Challenge. We have ripped up flooring, built a wall, installed tile and wallpapered. The last 6 weeks have flown by, yet it seems the house has been in an uproar forever. Know what I mean? Finally, everything is going back into its rightful place.

This week we focused on bringing in furniture and accessories. The sectional I chose to use was saved from the dumpster. My sister in law was throwing it out, and my (forever always thinking awesome) husband, said, “I’ll take that home!”.

It’s an indoor/outdoor wicker piece, with great bones. I had the cushions recovered in a classic buffalo check. The fabric is by P. Kaufman and it pairs beautifully with the floral kilim pillows.

My coffee table, I found on Facebook Marketplace. It’s so unique and I knew had to have it for the space. I did some research and the design is called a cloud scroll. How perfect is that for a Sunroom?

Not pictured, but soon revealed: a mirror, asian wood carved panels, 2 vintage wicker chairs, a lamp and table all thrifted from estate sells or Facebook Marketplace. I love finding awesome second hand pieces. They are so much more affordable and more unique than buying new.

My dining table was purchased 6 years ago from World Market. It was dark and not the look I had envisioned. We sanded, and sanded, (okay to be clear, my husband sanded, and sanded). Now I love it. It’s like a completely new table. Don’t you think!?

I’m getting so excited for the final reveal in 2 weeks. I can not wait to show you guys the space in it’s entirety. It’s becoming my favorite room in my home.

I’m signing off now, to go check out my fellow ORC participants rooms . You can too, by clicking here!
